My January birthday morning would be an all-day tour; a grand day trip around Copenhagen. When the tour bus had gathered everyone from all the stops and our guide, Anders, introduced himself, we did the same by stating our names and the countries we were from. I found out that a young lady from the UK was also celebrating her birthday on the same day. The cold, rainy morning drive took us to our first stop of the day; Roskilde Cathedral.
Seen as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Roskilde Cathedral is the Lutheran Church of Denmark and the official royal burial church for many Danish monarchs built in the 12th and 13th centuries. From November to March, much of the viewing takes place outside. The history given by our guide, gave insight to what was offered inside the cathedral that we could not see.
